Perfect location in Southern Finland, well-groomed slopes and our commitment to excellence in quality and service have made Himos one of the most popular ski resorts in Finland. And in 1995 and in 2001 Himos was chosen to be The Ski Resort of The Year. As a result, the fact that Himos has put emphasis on the quality and the diversity of the slopes and on family-oriented services has really paid off.
In its current state Himos can offer extremely diverse surroundings for downhill enthusiasts. Himos has a total of 21 slopes and it provides both challenging and difficult ones as well as gentle and easy ones for the whole family or for beginners. Snowboarders and other skiing experts have not been forgotten either. For them Himos offers two different snow parks/streets and the challenging moguls that meet the FIS standards. The slopes at Himos are the highest and longest in Southern and Central Finland. Himos has totally 15 lifts, of which 2 are chairlifts (2 and 4 persons) and 4 are free of charge.
Cross-country skiers are provided with tracks appr. 23 kilometers, of which 5,9 km are lighted. Himos tracks are connected to public tracks of Jämsä region thus giving almost 100 kilometers of cross-country tracks.
An efficient artificial snowmaking system combined with proper maintenance of the slopes enables approximately 6 months of skiing, sometimes even from late October all the way to the beginning of May. Similarly as they do in the ski resorts in Lapland.
Hiihtokeskus Himosvuori Ltd is a family owned lift company, which is taking care of the slopes, ski rentals, restaurants located in the Main Lodges and ski school.
There are several companies, which provide other activities and lodging in chalets or hotels. You can find them through the accommodation navigation.
